There is dirt in my under my finger nails,

And the wind has blown my braid into a bird’s nest. 

I’ve worn the same socks three days in a row,

Caked in mud from crawling behind a waterfall

In search of the car keys that fell out of Jen’s pocket. 

 

My gloves are on the dashboard 

Pleading for the warm air to dry their soggy fingers. 

My hands match my cheeks —

Bright red.

 

This is me and my undying desire

To chase adventure. 

Always behind the lens

Ready to capture each moment.
